Any Place

Dark forces circle at the corners of my dreams

My dreams and my decisions

My sodden jeans and rooftop song

Something is moving me along

There’s a ringing in my soul but I’m stuck here

Dragging myself about

And I don’t want to be sleeping when it happens

When we’re all transformed, and lifted out

So I move through a series of dim and empty rooms

This could be any place in history, and it’ll all be over soon

This could be any place in history

Any place in history

Anywhere

Blow away these tired bones

Change them ‘cause it’s all the same

I need a meteor shower

An explosion in the frame

And if I died tomorrow

My to-do list would not get done

But the world would still rush head-long

And wake up to the sun

Wake up to the sun

Yeah he believes in a magic wave

That rolls on the sea of time

That’ll touch every single human soul

Redeem them from the grime

Then he thinks about his dirty clothes

A bus-ride home, an aching chest

All the things he hasn’t done

And a room where he could rest

You know someday soon I’m gonna have to leave

Green leaves soak up water and breathe

And I feel moisture soaking up my sleeve

Soaking up my sleeve

Yeah I move through a series of dim and empty rooms

This could be anywhere in history and it’ll all be over soon

This could be any place in history

Anywhere in history

Anywhere
